About Adam Baker

I have performed many differing roles before starting Inclusive Cultures, working as a manager and leader in organisations ranging from bars and bowling alleys to banks and building societies, with some technology companies sandwiched in the middle. All these roles have helped me develop a passion for identifying and creating systemic solutions to problems that include people at their core.

Why do I do what I do?

I love finding the connections between problems, activities and behaviours within organisations and I see the world as highly inter-related. Creating innovative solutions that make a difference to individuals and the organisation is what motivates me.

The way people are led and managed are key to an organisation's success. By bridging the gaps in knowledge and expertise within the organisation, I help you develop your own learning, creating an environment for you to reflect and adapt. I believe in delivering what you need and giving you the best solution for you and your teams

How do I do it?

Underlying everything I do is a belief that for organisations to be successful managers must first create an environment in which people know what is expected of them, have the support they require and are given great feedback on their performance. Such a culture enables your people to perform in a way that will delight customers and build successful organisations.

By focusing on the human aspects of embedding change, I work with people at all levels in your organisation to quickly understand the drivers, hurdles and walls that exist for them and help identify solutions to overcome them.

My creative approach involves looking at your organisation as a complete system and developing solutions that are systemic in nature, as in my experience, solutions that address only part of the organisation will fail to deliver the expected results. My aim is to understand your organisation’s strengths and how managers and people respond to change before developing solutions to meet your unique needs.

What else do I do?

In addition to my consultancy work with organisations I also take on interim management roles. I love these roles as it gives me a chance to get really close to people and projects and experience first-hand the issues you are facing. It keeps me in touch with the operational challenges and provides an opportunity for me to continually learn and adapt my solutions to your changing needs.
